Tot since Bloemfontein documents a public intervention presented during the Vrystaat Kunstefees in July 2016. The project explored civic ownership through a collaborative mapping exercise in which participants reimagined Bloemfontein using spray-painted found materials on a softwood contour map. Together they proposed infrastructures such as free Wi-Fi, parks, a reservoir, a railway system, and an amphitheatre. As participants debated and negotiated their ideas, the work revealed differing perspectives on the city’s needs while transforming the installation into a space of dialogue, participation, and collective authorship.
