The JHC Mural (2019) was commissioned for the Johannesburg Housing Company (JHC) and captures the essence of community life within affordable housing spaces. The mural is divided into two parts: one side depicts children playing soccer in the playgrounds commonly found in many of JHC’s housing estates, symbolising energy, youth, and joy. The other side features a couple relaxing after a hard day’s work, highlighting the peace and tranquility offered by the housing project. Through this artwork, the mural emphasises the well-being and sense of security that JHC’s housing developments bring to their residents, offering not only physical shelter but also a space for personal fulfilment and community connection.
